The Echo Paper Mache Vase is handcrafted from sustainable papier mâché and has a buff coloured limewash-like matte finish. With a graceful tulip form and decorative handles, we enjoy the clean lines by styling it with other sculptural silhouettes. Add dramatic dried flowers and botanicals to add warmth to the look. Made from recycled newspaper, they are entirely natural and sustainable. First the newspaper is mixed with water, then chalk and tree sap crystals are added to turn the substance into a clay-like material. The pulp is kneaded into chapati-like forms, then rolled and moulded into the sculptural objects we love. There is no firing, no power used, and the process is entirely eco-friendly. Each piece will have subtle differences in finish and these variations are part of the handmade appeal. Porous in nature, papier mâché should not be exposed to liquids.
